AI can help you plan your week. It can't decide what matters to you.
Over the next while, you'll set up your own AI project: your goals, your values, your skills, and how you talk to it. This isn't a test. Nothing here is scored or shared.
Before you go further
What's your honest relationship with AI right now?
🤔I use it, but I'm not always sure where the line is
✍️I use it as a starting point, then make it my own
🆕I'm fairly new to this. Still figuring it out
🚀I want to learn how to use it properly
🗂️ Section 2 of 12
Your Setup.
This goes at the top of your project so your AI tool knows who it's talking to, and what it's actually for.
What do you want this project to actually help you with?
This becomes the mission statement at the top of your project. Be specific — "help me stay organized" tells your AI less than "remind me before deadlines and check in on my goals weekly."
Courses you're taking this year
Cumulative GPA
Optional. If your school doesn't calculate this the way you'd expect, skip it or estimate.
Roughly how much time do you spend on schoolwork and activities each day?
Under 1 hour
1–2 hours
2–4 hours
4+ hours
🎯 Section 3 of 12
Your Goals.
What are you actually trying to get done? Pick a category, add as many as you want, and mark whether it's a this-semester thing or a longer-term thing.
Academic
Extracurricular
Personal & Wellbeing
Relationships & Community
This semester
Longer term
Add at least one goal to continue.
🧭 Section 4 of 12
Your Values.
Goals are what you're doing. This is why. Pick 3 to 5 words for what you want to be true about how you get there, not just what you end up with.
Curiosity
Integrity
Independence
Family
Ambition
Balance
Courage
Creativity
Loyalty
Discipline

📚 Section 6 of 12
Your Study Habits.
Not a learning-style quiz — those don't hold up well. Just the practical stuff that actually predicts a good study session.
When do you focus best?
Early morning
Right after school
Evening
Late night
Where do you focus best?
My room
Library
Kitchen / common area
Somewhere outside home
How long before you need a break?
15–20 min
30–45 min
45–60 min
60+ min
Set yourself a few reminders
⏰ These don't send actual notifications from this page. Put them in your phone's reminders too, or ask your AI project to check in with you on the schedule you set.
✅ Section 7 of 12
Your Checklist.
Two lists. Check off what's already true, and add anything that's missing — you know your own year better than any generic list will.
Life basics
Junior-year milestones
🗓️ Section 8 of 12
Important Dates.
Anything with a date attached: tests, tryouts, deadlines, trips. Your AI will turn this into an actual calendar view in your dashboard.
🎓 Section 9 of 12
College Search — Early Exploration.
You're a junior, not a senior. This is exploration, not applications. No safety/target/reach lists, no essays, nothing that assumes you're applying this year.
What are you curious about? (up to 6)

🧰 Section 10 of 12
Your Toolkit.
How to ask an AI tool for something well, and how a project keeps everything you just built in one place instead of starting from zero each time.
How to ask
01 Context
What's the situation right now? Your AI tool can't see what you're carrying into the chat.
02 Task
Exactly what do you need done? Vague in, vague out.
03 Constraints
What should it avoid? Length, tone, assumptions it shouldn't make.
04 Format
How do you want it back? A list, a table, a schedule. Name it.
Without structure
"Help me get better at studying."
With structure
"I have a chemistry test in 10 days on unit 4. I run out of time reviewing and panic two days before. Build me a 10-day review schedule in 30-minute blocks, and flag which topics to front-load."
💧 One well-structured prompt does more than three vague ones. Precision is the lighter footprint.
Two layers of instructions, then a dashboard
Global settings
Short. Follows you into every chat, not just this one — your name, school, and how you want it to talk to you.
Project instructions
Longer. Only applies inside this project — your goals, values, skills, checklist, everything else you build today.
Your first prompt
Turns the project instructions into an actual dashboard, and carries your pledge — there isn't room for it above.
After that
You keep talking to it in the project. Tell it what changed and it updates the dashboard instead of you rebuilding it.
🔐 Section 11 of 12
Your Rules.
How you want your AI to work with you, and where the line is on your own work.
How do you need your AI to show up so you actually get your best thinking done?
Select all that apply.
Structured and detailed
Concise and direct
Encouraging and patient
Challenging and honest
Question-led
Deadline-driven
What AI is good for, and where the line is
🔒 What you type into an AI tool isn't private the way a diary is. If something feels too personal, don't include it.
📜 Section 12 of 12
Your Pledge.
ChatGPT splits your setup into three pieces, and your pledge lives in the last one — there's no room for it in short global settings, so it becomes part of the prompt that builds your dashboard instead.
🧩 ChatGPT has two separate homes for instructions: global settings, which follow you into every chat everywhere and have to stay short, and project instructions, which only apply here and can hold much more. You'll get one short output for each, plus the prompt that turns it all into your dashboard.
Output 1 — Global custom instructions
Settings → Personalization → Custom Instructions. Two boxes. Keep both short — this follows you into every chat, not just this project.
Box 1 — "What would you like ChatGPT to know about you?"
Box 2 — "How would you like ChatGPT to respond?"
Output 2 — Project instructions
Create a new ChatGPT project, then paste this into its instructions. Applies only inside this project.
Output 3 — Your first prompt
Send this as the first message inside the project, right after adding the instructions above. It carries your pledge and builds your actual dashboard.
This is yours. Build with it.
Before you copy
This text will be shared with an AI tool.
It includes your name, school, nationality, goals, values, and everything else you filled in above.
That platform has its own privacy policy. Check it, and make sure you're comfortable with what you're sharing. If anything feels too personal, close this and edit before copying.
